Michigan marketing firm Revel to provide pro bono effort for Girls Build Kalamazoo during 24-hour marketing marathon on Giving Tuesday
After spending the summer accepting and reviewing applications from Michigan nonprofits, Muskegon-based marketing firm Revel today announces it has selected Kalamazoo nonprofit Girls Build Kalamazoo as the recipient of a free marketing makeover during its first-ever 24-hour marketing marathon on Giving Tuesday.
Calling it “Good Tuesday,” the event will put all of Revel’s 13 team members in its downtown Muskegon office from 8 a.m. Tuesday, November 28, through 8 a.m. Wednesday, November 29, to execute a comprehensive marketing plan free of charge for Girls Build Kalamazoo.
This 24-hour marketing marathon is directly inspired by Giving Tuesday, a global philanthropic movement that takes place on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving. It encourages people to shift their focus from Black Friday and purchasing to charitable giving and acts of kindness. The day promotes coming together to support various causes and nonprofit organizations.
Revel received over 30 applications from organizations across the state before its September 30 deadline.
Any Michigan-based company was encouraged to apply, with priority given to nonprofits and for-profit businesses promoting philanthropic causes. Organizations could nominate themselves, be nominated by a community member, or be nominated by a Revel team member.
Girls Build Kalamazoo is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2020, serving middle school & high schoolers to explore, engage, and excel in the fields of construction and trades, as well as science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) and entrepreneurship.
“We’re thrilled to have Girls Build Kalamazoo as the recipient for Good Tuesday,” said Revel partner and chief executive officer Jason Piasecki. “Their cause is near and dear to me, having two daughters in college pursuing careers in STEM industries.”
The organization was nominated by Stephanie Horka, a Girls Build Kalamazoo supporter and Revel client.
“I recommended Girls Build Kalamazoo because I truly believe in their organization. I was introduced to Revel through the work you did for my company,” said Horka, project manager at Workpack Solutions, a software provider for the packaging industry.
“Girls Build Kalamazoo is grateful to be the recipient of Revel’s Good Tuesday give-back. As a newer organization, it is vital to our growth and sustainability that our story is shared widely and that our messaging is clear and concise. We are excited for Revel to help us achieve our marketing objectives,” said Twala Lockett-Jones, Girls Build Kalamazoo founder.
Revel, founded on the principle of doing good work for its people, customers, and community, is using “Good Tuesday” as its way of bringing the mantra to life. For ‘Good Tuesday,’ Revel will donate 24 hours in service to a nonprofit or for-profit company in Michigan that is invested in initiatives that have a positive impact. In a single day, the whirlwind campaign will go from concept to completion and later be revealed to the public.
“Our mission is to make a difference in the lives of our team, the clients we serve, and the communities where we do business,” said Revel partner and chief executive officer Jason Piasecki. “This initiative encompasses all three of those aspects. We’re excited to give a worthy organization the kind of marketing it deserves. Projects like this are why I get out of bed to go to work every day.”
Revel intends to meet with Girls Build Kalamazoo soon to discuss the organization’s marketing needs.
Then, on Giving Tuesday, Revel and potential campaign partners will execute the start-to-finish marketing campaign with the 24-hour time crunch. Upon conclusion of the 24-hour period, Revel will present the campaign to the client at its downtown Muskegon office. The scope of what we’ll deliver will be determined at a kickoff meeting in the near future.
The entire race-against-the-clock experience will be documented on social media, so the public is encouraged to follow along on Revel’s social pages: Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn. Followers will be able to join in on the excitement and get a behind-the-scenes look at Revel’s marketing process with a special twist.
Any organization wishing to support the endeavor, such as printing vendors, restaurants, or media companies, is welcome to collaborate with Revel on the initiative.
